Bluebell Tolls

Poem and photography by me

The sky turned upside down
And on the ground the bells are found
With whispers they toll around the tree
In sways of gentle community
Though curious come the visiting eyes
To welcome the spread of nature's surprise
In haste they swarm to have a look
For just as sudden as blooming took
The bell will toll for bluebells wane
And till next year they'll hide again
But they will not be forgot
As eager eyes watch their spot
So missed, so loved, they're return once more
And spread across the forest floor
Can we in this our season be
As loved as bells around the tree?
